PSWs, Palliative and/or Paediatrics - Shift work
SUMMARY:
CarePartners is currently seeking Personal Support Workers (internal reference: Community
Support Worker) for community work in our Personal Support and eHomeCare program. We are
looking for energetic and dedicated Personal Support Workers to help patients in our
community, with activities of daily living.
We are presently hiring Personal Support Workers and Developmental Support workers for our
eHomeCare program; providing adult palliative, and complex care; and stable pediatric children
with complex needs. This unique collaborative team will be a joint effort between the
eHomeCare Support Worker and specially trained nurses. eHomeCare Support Worker’s provide
care to patients in their own homes supported through technology by
registered nurses. CarePartners will be providing education specific to eHomeCare, as well as a
comprehensive, fully paid orientation.
Shift work including days, evenings, nights and every other weekend.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
 The eHomeCare Support Worker delivers care to patients in their own home
 This is an integrated approach which facilitates a direct link of communication between a
nurse via laptop/tablet and the eHomeCare Support Worker via smartphone throughout
their shift
 The communication tools are provided to both the nurse and eHomeCare support
worker by the agency
 A significant component of the responsibilities expected from the eHomeCare support
worker will be to assist and support and their family
QUALIFICATIONS:
 Personal Support Worker, Developmental Support Worker or Nursing students
 Experience as a PSW is an asset
 Education in palliative care an asset
 Passion for providing holistic, sensitive, individualized care to patients at end of life
 Comfort in using technology such as a smartphone
 Excellent verbal and written communication skills
 Comfort with providing care to patients in their own homes - previous experience an
asset
 Ability to work collaboratively with nurses, as part of a team, is crucial
 Ability to work independently, yet take direction, is essential
 Must have a valid drivers' license and/or access to reliable transportation means
