Full-time Crew Lead

Blue Sky Fence & Deck is a full service outdoor construction company operating in
the KW (+ surrounding) area. We are looking to grow our team of trusted
professionals by hiring additional Crew Leads. Read on for more information on the
qualifications, skills and job description. Think you have what it takes? Apply today

between $25.00 and $35.00 per hour and will be determined based on work
experience and construction knowledge. We operate Monday through Friday and
work begins at 7:00 AM.
Qualifications:
Please carefully read the following. Please do not apply unless you meet all of the
following qualifications as otherwise your application will not be considered.
● High school diploma or equivalency;
● Ability to read and write in English;
● Valid Ontario G Class Driver's License;
● A minimum of 1 year of management or supervisory experience;
● A minimum of 5 years of carpentry and/or construction experience;
● Ability to lift 50 + lbs;
● Reliable transportation to and from work;
● Experience in one of more of the following; carpentry, concrete, hardscaping,
landscaping, and/or framing.
Skills:
In order to be a successful Crew Lead the applicant should possess the following
skillsets.
● Math (geometry, conversions, multiplication/division and have a keen
understanding of the metric system);
● The ability to read site plans;
● Leadership;
● Team Work;
● Attention to detail;
● Time management;
● Communication.
Job Description:
As a Crew Lead you will be responsible for the crew working under you. You will
have to instruct, delegate and assist the junior crew members you will be working
with on various jobs when necessary. No two days will look the same as you will be
responsible for completing a number of tasks including, but not limited to, the
following:
● Ensuring the proper tools, equipment and materials have been gathered for
the job at hand. This may also include planning ahead, making material lists
and arranging orders.
● Delegating tasks to junior crew members and ensuring they understand what
is required of them.
● Adhering to project timelines and budgets.
● Assisting with demolition.
● Following site plans.
● Constructing fences, decks, pergolas, sheds, roofs, concrete pads, paved
patios, etc.
● Quality control.
● Ensuring the project has been completed according to plan.
● Warranty work.
