General Labourer - Mill - Entry Level

Hours: Monday to Thursday 7am – 4:30pm
Wage: $17.00/hour
Start date: ASAP
The purpose of this role is to assist with cutting, trimming and stacking lumber and to assist the yard manager with general housekeeping and grounds maintenance from time to time.
Job Duties:
- Pile lumber cut offs from saws onto rolling carts or skids
- Sort and pile lumber onto rolling carts or skids
- Band lumber to secure for transport and/or storage
- Help to secure cables on empty train cars
- Assist with grounds maintenance including clearing brush, picking up debris and garbage in and around the property
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- All other duties as assigned
- Qualified Candidates must be able to:
- Must be able to read and understand numbers
- Must be able to read and communicate verbally in English
- Able to read and use a tape measure accurately
- Able to follow direction and work as part of a team
- Willing and eager to learn
Effort Required:
Regular physical effort is required to push, pull lift and carry up to 50lbs
