Important things to note before applying to Wild Waterworks:

  • These positions are subject to compliance with the Hamilton Conservation Authority vaccination policy. 
  • All staff are required to attend mandatory training sessions throughout the month of May, as well as bi-weekly in-season training
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the operating schedule
  • As part of the Hamilton Conservation Authority team you may be scheduled and asked to report to a different conservation area to assist with special events, staffing shortages, etc. throughout the length of your employment period
  • Positions are seasonal and do not allow for vacation periods during employment
  • Positions require outdoor work for extended periods of time through various weather conditions
  • Police Checks are required for all positions and must be submitted before working

AVAILABLE POSITIONS:

AQUATIC STAFF

LIFEGUARDS – Up to 55 Lifeguards are required to perform various lifeguarding duties at Wild Waterworks and Lakeland Pool in Confederation Beach Park.

  • All applicants must be 16 years of age or older and must possess or be in the process of obtaining a valid National Lifeguard certificate, a valid CPR Level C and Standard First Aid certificate. Water Safety instructor’s certification considered an asset. Those hired will be required to meet functional ability requirements
  • Lifeguards are responsible for safe and efficient operations of all water attractions, and Lakeland Pool
  • providing patrons with required assistance and safety instructions
  • maintaining the overall cleanliness of the facility.
  • Ability to respond to emergencies and incidents and provide appropriate first aid
  • Adapt to communicating understanding signals, phones, radios and whistles with other staff
  • Comfortable with heights including climbing stairs and ramps
  • Must participate in all training/physical tests assigned and maintain appropriate fitness requirements
  • Responsible for the safe operation of all water attractions while providing efficient lifeguarding skills

 

Lifeguard Starting Wage: $16.50

 

WATERSLIDE ATTENDANTS – Up to 12 Waterslide Attendants are required to operate and dispatch riders in a safe manner, following all safety regulations provided.

 

  • All applicants must be 14 years of age or older and must possess or be in the process of obtaining a valid Bronze Cross certificate, a valid CPR Level C and Standard First Aid certificate.
  • responsible for ensuring patron safety and enjoyment
  • maintaining the overall cleanliness of the facility.
  • Adapt to communicating understanding signals, phones, radios and whistles with other staff
  • Comfortable with heights including climbing stairs and ramps
  • Ensure proper usage and safety practices and procedures while operating aquatic attractions
  • Must participate in all training/physical tests assigned and maintain appropriate fitness requirements
  • Must provide guest and attraction information, monitor the queue and make appropriate adjustments

 

Waterslide Attendant Starting Wage: Minimum Wage

 


 

ASSISTANT POOL OPERATOR – Up to 6 Assistant Pool Operators are required to assist with the successful operation of mechanical systems and water attractions at Wild Waterworks and Lakeland Pool

  • Maintaining appropriate water quality and plant appearance and cleanliness of the various water attractions
  • Must understand necessary swimming pool operations
  • Sanitation and water balancing, including filtration.
  • Pool Operators certificate is required or willing to obtain
  • Ability to prepare and operate all water attractions by inspecting and maintaining the wave                                       generating equipment, maintaining pumps, and inspecting attractions for any deficiencies
  • Comfortable with heights including climbing stairs, ladders and ramps
  • Must accurately and confidently troubleshoot equipment breakdowns in a timely fashion
  • Maintain appropriate and safe water quality by conducting tests and adjusting chemicals as required
  • Must understand and demonstrate proper use of safety practices and personal protective equipment

 

Assistant Pool Operator Starting Wage: $16.00

 

SECURITY OFFICER – Up to 4 Security Officers are required for the safety and well-being of all guests, staff and other visitors at Wild Waterworks.

  • All applicants must be 18 years of age or older and must possess an Ontario Security Guard license as mandated by the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services.
  • Maintain appropriate access control, property and resources protection,
  • Must deal and resolve security related incidents promptly.
  • Assist with crowd control and emergency situations
  • Confidently respond to incidents such as theft or property damage, disorderly conduct by guests or staff and take appropriate action to meet required resolution
  • Maintain hourly logs and proper documentation for situations and required reports
  • Must assure the security and safety of guests and staff by observing and monitoring for unsafe or •threatening conditions
  • Must use proper judgement and law enforcement to resolve issues in extreme conditions

 

Security Officer Starting Wage: $ 17.00

 


 

MAINTENANCE & CLEANING STAFF – Up to 12 Maintenance & Cleaning Staff are required to perform cleaning and disinfection of all areas in relation to COVID-19, park maintenance, grounds keeping

  • Janitorial duties during pre-season and throughout the operating season.
  • Maintenance & Cleaning Staff keep the facility clean, disinfected, safe and pristine while interacting with guests and offering information in a courteous manner.
  • Adequately work as a team to complete janitorial services and maintenance duties assigned
  • Clean change rooms, restroom facilities, turf and buildings as required
  • Maintain facility quality standards by performing all cleaning duties assigned and noticed
  • Must be observant to notice janitorial or maintenance issues and respond to them accordingly
  • Must understand and demonstrate proper use of safety practices and personal protective equipment

 

Maintenance Starting Wage: Minimum Wage

 

GUEST SERVICES REPRESENTITIVE – Up to 6 Guest Services Representatives are required for ensuring the satisfaction and enjoyment of visitors at Wild Waterworks.

  • Responsible for processing season passes, checking in cabana rentals, planning and implementing events, communicating with the public either in person, over the phone or via email, and responding to patron concerns and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Experience with groups, event planning, public relations, cash handling and office administration is a strong asset.  
  • Adapt and understand how to use various computer software for necessary operations
  • Attend to guest inquiries and complaints, and address the public in a friendly, courteous manner
  • Establish a line of communication and trust with guests by learning their needs and satisfaction
  • Perform various administrative duties such as typing, data entry and retrieval and filing
  • Process daily admission, group sales, season passes and vehicle passes, and produce accurate   
  • records

 

Guest Services Representative Starting Wage: $16.00

 

CASHIERS AND SERVERS – Up to 40 Cashiers and Servers are required to sell/redeem admission tickets, rent tubes, collect fees, control turnstile, serve food and beverage items, and attend to cabanas.

 

  • Have direct contact with guests and must be friendly and courteous to all.
  •  Experience with cash handling and public relations is a strong asset.
  • Adapt and understand how to use various computer software for necessary operations
  • Attend to guest inquiries and complaints, and address the public in a friendly, courteous manner
  • Handle admission, rental items and food purchase and distribute in a timely fashion
  • Precisely operate computerized cash register, handle cash and float money, process credit and •debit
  • card sales and process admissions and coupons
  • Use suggestive selling and up-selling techniques and provide proper information regarding products

Cashier/Server Starting Wage: Minimum Wage

 

FOOD SERVICES – COOKS – Up to 12 Cooks are required for our fast-paced food concession operations.

  • Ensuring optimal food quality and maintaining exceptional sanitary conditions of all food services areas.
  • Previous short-order cook experience is an asset.
  • Comfortable working around hot objects such as the grills and deep fryers
  • Ensure customer satisfaction with food quality and value and excellent customer service
  • Must be observant of the physical appearance, organization, sanitation and cleanliness of all food •concessions and equipment
  • Safely prepare food items including hamburgers, hot dogs, pizza, chicken, pork products, funnel cakes, appetizer items and many other items that may be requested
  • Must understand and demonstrate proper use of safety practices and personal protective equipment

 

Food Services – Cooks Starting Wage: Minimum Wage

 

TEAM LEADERS

Up to 6 Team Leaders are required for the Cash/Cook department

Up to 6 Team Leaders are required for the Aquatic Department. 

  • Team Leaders have an active role and work hands on side by side with the staff. 
  • Team Leaders play an important role in guest services, inventory control, training and team work. 
  • Previous experience in the areas of cash handling, inventory control, cooking and aquatics is preferred for the role of Team Leader.
  • Must have Food handler’s certification or willing to obtain
  • Must have National Lifeguard certification and Water Safety Instructors is considered an asset
  • Must be certified in Standard First Aid or willing to obtain
  • Demonstrate initiative, efficiency and reliability towards all jobs assigned
  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing, demonstrating good interpersonal skills when speaking to the public or other staff.
  • Demonstrate excellent organizational and administrative skills

  • Supervisors play an important role in guest service and administration, providing information and services to visitors and provides a level of supervision to the waterpark, handling all park issues as they arise.
  • Previous supervisory experience is preferred.  
  • Demonstrate initiative, efficiency, and reliability towards all jobs assigned.
  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing, demonstrating good interpersonal skills when speaking to the public or other staff.
  • Demonstrate excellent organizational, computer and administrative skills.
  • Create a team atmosphere among all staff.  Work effectively and productively with all staff.
  • Meet and inform the public of pertinent information regarding Wild Waterworks and the Conservation Authority, including policy, regulations, activities, layout and facilities.

Supervisor Starting Wage $ 18.00
